'Little Magic' - Exclusive Artist Talk & Painting Workshop
To coincide with my debut solo exhibition: ‘Little Magic: Familiars, Fauna & Flora’, I will be hosting an exclusive exhibition talk and painting workshop to create your own little piece of magic!
Join me as I share my inspiration behind the artworks, an insight into my creative process and a brief delve into my career as an illustrator, followed by a Q&A and a full gouache painting workshop. And of course, visit the 'Little Magic' exhibition itself too!
About the Workshop
To start I will share insights into my painting techniques from the collection and introduce the medium we will be working in.
A beautiful but little known medium, learn how to use gouache paint, (used by iconic illustration artists new and old): a beautiful buttery mix somewhere between watercolour and acrylic, and create your own delicate miniature artwork in the style of my ‘Little Magic’ still life paintings!
With step-by-step guidance you will learn how to create a delicate and vibrant still life painting using an object of your choice ( a selection of beautiful natural objects will be provided, or bring your own!), and how to choose the perfect complementary colour to make your painting pop. Learn tips on colour theory, painting techniques and materials and bring home your own miniature masterpiece.
This will be a relaxed session is open to complete beginners (We promise!) as well as experienced artists looking for something new!
If you are feeling nervous about attending, please feel free to contact Rebecca before the event on instagram @rebeccafeneley or via email rebeccafeneley@icloud.com and ask any questions, no matter how small they may seem! We know how scary it can be going to an event alone too!
All materials are included, all you need to bring is your inspiration!
