Upcoming eventsThe Savoy Cinema in Sir Nigel Gresley Square will be holding screenings of a new film, created by the National Railway Museum, to celebrate the centenary of Flying Scotsman.
Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, said: “We will always be proud of Flying Scotsman and the links to our city. The world famous locomotive was built right here in Doncaster, one hundred years ago, and it is wonderful that the Savoy Cinema will be hosting the premier of this film by the National Railway Museum.
“These film screenings are part of a bigger programme of celebration events taking place across the country. We are also delighted that Flying Scotsman will also be making a stop at Doncaster, its birthplace, later this year, which is yet another example of our close working relationship with the National Railway Museum.”
The film is around 25 minutes long and tickets are free to the public on a first come, first served, basis for all showings. Collection from Savoy box office or by telephone incurs no fee. Online booking at the Savoy Cinema Website will incur a 40p service charge.
