Mexborough’s Film Fans Urged to Share Their Stories
Film fans in Mexborough are being asked to share their favourite film or cinema memories as part of an art project which will bring them to life on the big screen.
The Mexborough Cosy Cinema project, initiated by Right Up Our Street, is calling for local people to share their film stories which will be developed by an artist and creatively brought to life in a film that will be exhibited once it is safe to do so. Movie goers are invited to share their memories of the first film they saw on screen, experiences of working in a cinema, first dates, or anything that conjures up unforgettable stories around watching films. Sally Lockey, creative director at Right Up Our Street, said: “The Mexborough Cosy Cinema project is in need of your most precious or funny film memories before we bring them to life with a talented artist. “So if you can remember the first film you saw, or maybe worked in a cinema and can remember sweeping the aisles scattered with popcorn, have been an extra or still have the movie ticket from the first date with your partner - we want to hear from you!” Submissions are open to all and can be written, recorded or filmed.
