Upcoming eventsThis exhibition, by one of Britain’s most admired artists, brings together for the first time a group of drawings which Henry Moore made as a war artist in 1942. The images are based on a week spent sketching underground at Wheldale Colliery in Castleford, Yorkshire, the mine in which his father, Raymond, had worked for nearly fifty years.
Finished works, placed next to the quick sketches and the working drawings on which they are based, will reveal much about the working practices of Moore as a draughtsman.
