Black Diamonds – Behind the Book

Catherine Bailey’s book Black Diamonds – the Rise and Fall of an English Dynasty was a bestseller in 2008.

Catherine was assisted and advised on the content of her bestseller by Martyn Johnson, a Wentworth resident, himself an author, Roman historian, and metal detectorist.

Doncaster Civic Trust are pleased to announce that they have invited Martyn to Cast to give a presentation on his work with Catherine on the history, background and detail in the book, including a question-and-answer session with the audience.

Martyn has also appeared in the top ten of The Sunday Times Bestsellers List for his book What’s Tha Up To? Memories of a Yorkshire Bobby, published in 2011. One of a series of five books, they recall his time as a beat bobby with Sheffield City Police in the Attercliffe area of Sheffield. Martyn will be bringing a number of his books for sale at the event.

There will be light refreshments served before Martyn is on stage from 11am.
