The Wool Market LIVE!
MAM Director, Hayden Ferriby, said "The pleasure of listening to live music is immeasurable. Seeing a musician bring out the joy in audiences is something we have all missed, and local musicians have been hard hit by COVID over the past year. We wanted to remind everyone of the fantastic talent out there that will be excited to be performing in front of them again very soon. Simply put, there's nothing quite like experiencing live music."
The Wool Market Live event will be live-streamed on the Wool Market Facebook page and free for everyone to enjoy. David Shaul from MAM said, "We want to offer local bands, sound technicians, photographers and videographers opportunities while bringing a taste of normal back to our loyal audience."
The headline performers were popular local band The Messengers and the talented Laura Kelly, with messages of hope and excitement from other performers and venues. Bear North Media UK were on hand to create the video and photography and AVL ensured the audio setup was optimised for streaming, with the MAM team managing and ensuring everything was COVID safe.
The Messengers said “We would like to thank the Market Asset Management team in particular David Shaul for asking us to be part of their promotion. It was an honour and privilege. We have always had a brilliant relationship with them since The Wool Market opened and look forward to working with them in the future.”
Laura Kelly said “Doncaster Wool Market is one of the most vibrant and exciting new additions to the Doncaster music scene. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Working with such talented people to create something special for our community is a joy and a privilege.”
The market team worked to ensure Covid safe ways of performing and recording the show. Everyone involved undertook lateral flow tests on the day of filming thanks to Doncaster Council. Masks and social distancing measures were in place in line with guidance.
