Polar Bear magic comes to Lakeside Village this Christmas

Following the popular summer Wildlife Discovery activities, the Village Green at the centre will transform into a polar-themed Christmas space, complete with life-sized polar bear sculptures and a special igloo grotto where families can meet Santa.

The winter experience will feature a collection of polar bear displays, including a Jumbo Polar Bear, a Standing Polar Bear, and a Polar Bear with Cub, creating perfect photo opportunities for visitors.

Abby Chandler, deputy centre manager, said: "After the success of our summer partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Park, we're excited to bring the magic of the Arctic to Lakeside Village this Christmas. Each child visiting Santa will receive a specially designed Winter Wonderland activity pack featuring Yorkshire Wildlife Park content."

The partnership will support wildlife conservation, with a suggested donation of £3 for each Santa visit, benefiting the WildLife Foundation based at and supported by Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Visitors can also participate in the centre's 'Share a Snap' promotion throughout December, with chances to win exciting prizes of tickets to Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Winter Illuminations experience.

Cheryl Williams, Director of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, said: "This festive collaboration allows us to bring the wonder of polar bears and Arctic wildlife to Lakeside Village's Christmas celebrations. It's a wonderful opportunity to engage families with wildlife conservation during the festive season while creating magical Christmas memories."
